Crispy green beans reminiscent of PF Chang’s gluten filled ‘crispy green beans’ Served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce even better than theirs! I deep fried (with my mom) for the first time ever! My final conclusion: it was not hard, it stunk up the house, and it tasted really good. Too good, I ate too many and got a stomachache! You definitely can’t taste that it is GF and DF Recipe adapted from ‘My Recipes’ and ‘Key Ingredient’.
Prep Time: < 1 hour
|2 tablespoons||Any hot sauce (I used Cholula)|
|1 each||Small onion, finely diced|
|4-5 cloves||Garlic, minced|
|1 teaspoon||Sweet chili sauce (Or any sweet sauce)|
Green beans, washed and trimmed
|4.4 ounces||Any gluten free flour blend (I used Namaste)|
|5 ounces||White rice flour|
|1 teaspoon||Baking soda|
|½ teaspoon||Black pepper|
|2 cups||Club soda, chilled|
|½ teaspoon||Kosher salt|
|4 cups||Canola or any other frying oil|
Step 1: In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, hot sauce, onion, garlic, and sweet chili sauce.
Step 2: Place in the refrigerator to chill until the green beans are done.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the GF flour blend, rice flour, paprika, baking soda, and pepper.
Step 4: Add the club soda a stir until fully combined. The batter will be thick. If you want thinner coatings on your green beans, you can add about an extra cup of club soda.
Step 5: Stir in the prepared green beans until they are fully coated.
Step 6: In a Dutch oven or a large saucepan; pour in the oil.
Step 7: Using a candy or deep fry thermometer, heat the oil on high until it reaches 385 degrees.
Step 8: Toss a few green beans in the hot oil and deep fry for about one minute or until golden brown and crispy. Using a metal slotted spoon, lift the green beans out of the oil and lay them on a paper towel.
Step 9: Continue deep frying until all of the green beans are gone.
Step 10: Serve with chilled dipping sauce and enjoy!
